Ms. Joy Parker is a partner at Parker & Lazzara, PLLC, where she practices Immigration Law, Criminal Defense, and Juvenile Delinquency and Dependency Law. Ms. Parker is admitted to practice law in Arizona, New York, New Jersey and the Federal District Court of New Jersey. She graduated with a juris doctorate from New York Law School and holds a bachelors of arts degree in Sociology from Fordham University.
Ms. Parker is a former Assistant Attorney General for the Arizona Attorney General. She represented the State of Arizona in complex civil litigation and mediations. She has experience with taking expert testimony and cross- examining expert witnesses. She has represented the State in child welfare and dependency cases.
Ms. Parker has a background in criminal law. She worked as a defense attorney for a large Arizona defense firm and represented clients throughout the state of Arizona. In 2006, she was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, in New York City, where she litigated numerous felony and misdemeanor cases.
In 2003, Ms. Parker drafted the 2003 Motions Manual for Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE), formerly known as the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). She has drafted and responded to motions on immigration cases, appeared on bond hearings, refugee / political asylum and deportation cases. She is a proud member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) as well as Arizona’s Wills For Heroes Program, in which she drafts wills at no charge for Arizona’s police officers and firefighters.
